Jerry Travis Haire

Jerry Travis Haire of Sanger, Texas passed away on September 20th 2021.  The graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 23rd at 11:00 a.m.

Jerry was born on December 29th 1933 in Merkel, Texas to J.B. and Myrtle Haire.  He was married to Myrna Jo Teague on June 25th 1955; they were married 64 years. 

Jerry was a loving father, husband, and friend.  He loved aviation from an early age and began flying as a teenager.  Early in his flying career he did a variety of jobs which included crop dusting, pipeline patrol, and freight hauling.  He became an airline pilot for Continental in 1964 and continued for 20 years.  After leaving Continental, he flew a variety of jobs until he retired from flying in 1990.  He continued to run an aviation hardware business with his oldest son, Richard, until his death.

Jerry is survived by his sons Richard (Sheryl) and Robert (Jill), three grandsons, Michael, Christopher (Emily) and Thomas and two bonus grandchildren, Courtney Harding and Colt Woodard.  He was also survived by three great grandchildren as well as his sister-in-law, Mildred Anderson, and brother-in-law, Parker Anderson.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Jo, his father, J.B. and his mother, Myrtle, and his brothers Lloyd and Kenneth.
